What Is the 40 Day
Discipleship Journey?
This Is More Than a Daily Devotional.
It’s a Path of Purpose.
After Jesus rose from the grave, He spent 40 days walking with His disciples—restoring their faith, answering their questions, and preparing them to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth. At Ekklesia, we follow that same pattern. For 40 days after Easter, we commit to walking with someone in faith. It’s not about conversion alone—it’s about discipleship.
Whether you’re brand new to church or a lifelong believer, this journey is your invitation to grow, walk with someone, and discover how Jesus calls us to live.
What You’ll Do Each Day
Simple. Biblical. Transformational.
Each day in The 40 Day Discipleship Journey features:
• A short Scripture reading
• A devotional reflection
• A few discussion or journaling questions
Whether you walk through it alone or with a friend,
the focus is daily intentionality—step by step.

Who Is Your “One”?
Discipleship Happens in Relationship.
We believe every follower of Jesus should be actively discipling someone. During these 40 days, we encourage every believer to commit to one person—your “One.” Plan a weekly meet-up (in person or online) to share insights, pray together, and hold each other accountable as you work through the daily devotionals. If you’re exploring faith, find someone to walk with you and answer questions.
What Happens After the 40 Days?
Ascension, Prayer, and Pentecost
Our journey doesn’t end after 40 days. Live out what you’re learning – share your story, lead someone else into discipleship, and help “bring in the harvest” as we move toward Pentecost (June 8).
April 20: Easter Sunday – Day 1 of 40
May 29: Ascension Day – Day 40 of 40
May 30 – June 7: 10 Days of Prayer and Fasting
June 5 – June 7: Three-Day Revival
June 8: Pentecost Sunday – a harvest celebration for all God has done

40 Days with Jesus Discipleship Path
Through the Bible, forty days has been a crucial timeframe for people to hear from God and begin their journey. It’s no wonder that Jesus spent forty days preparing for ministry in the wilderness and forty days after his resurrection preparing the disciples. Begin a 40-day discipleship that will continue through Ascension Day. Let’s use this opportunity to grow in our faith and establish our next steps to serve and expand the Kingdom.
